FindMySwim LLC is a California limited liability company operating a marketplace that connects families who have private swimming pools with certified, independent-contractor swim instructors. We are the data controller for personal information collected through our mobile applications, website (findmyswim.com), and related services.
Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and role (parent/guardian or instructor) provided when you register or join our waitlist.
Payment Information: Payment is processed by Stripe. FindMySwim does not store full card numbers. We retain transaction records including amounts, dates, and masked payment identifiers.
GPS and Location Data: Instructor check-in locations are recorded at lesson start and close. Families receive a confirmation that the instructor is on-site — not raw coordinates. See Section 6 for full detail.
Background Check Data: Instructors submit to background screening through Checkr. FindMySwim receives a pass/fail result and does not store full background report contents.
Lesson Records: Skill assessments, instructor progress notes, lesson dates and durations, student profiles, and rating history.
Communications: All messages sent between families and instructors through FindMySwim's in-app messaging system are retained on our platform. All communications between instructors and families must occur within the app.
Device and Usage Data: IP addresses, browser type, device identifiers, app version, and usage analytics collected automatically when you use our services.
Twilio: We use Twilio to send SMS notifications for lesson reminders, GPS check-in confirmations, and booking updates. Phone numbers used for Twilio notifications are not sold or shared beyond this purpose.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising and do not sell your personal information to third parties.

You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
When an instructor initiates a GPS check-in, the app records their real-time coordinates and compares them against the booking address. A confirmation notification is sent to the parent or caregiver of record.
GPS coordinates are recorded at check-in and check-out only. Continuous tracking between these moments does not occur. Exact location data is not displayed to families — families receive a confirmation that the instructor is on-site, not raw coordinates.
Instructor GPS reliability data (check-in completion rate over rolling 30-day periods) is used to maintain the 90% platform reliability standard. Instructors who fall below this threshold may have their accounts paused.
GPS data is retained for 2 years from the lesson date and may be accessed in the event of a dispute.
FindMySwim's Swim Circle feature allows primary account holders to add up to two authorized caregivers — such as a nanny, grandparent, or co-parent — to their family account.
Authorized caregivers have the same permissions as the primary account holder and may book lessons, communicate with instructors, view skill reports, and manage the family schedule.
Each authorized caregiver must independently agree to FindMySwim's Terms and Conditions and sign all required waivers before they can take actions on the account. The primary account holder is responsible for ensuring this requirement is met.
Caregiver personal information (name, email, phone number) is collected for account authentication and notification purposes only. Caregiver data is retained for the duration of the primary account and deleted upon removal from the Swim Circle or account closure.
FindMySwim serves children of all ages, including infants in parent-tot programs. We take the privacy of minors seriously and do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All account creation and consent is handled by a parent or legal guardian.
Student profiles are created and managed by the parent or guardian and are accessible only to the family's authorized account holders and the assigned instructor for active lessons.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without appropriate parental consent, please contact us immediately at support@findmyswim.com and we will delete the information promptly.
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

Nothing in this section limits your right to file a complaint with the California Attorney General or the California Privacy Protection Agency.
FindMySwim may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The "Effective Date" at the top of this document reflects the date of the most recent update.
Continued use of FindMySwim after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
